Introduction

The word “chronology” is deduced from the two Greek words

Chronos       [(by man) measurable time] and

Logos            [correctness, knowledge, word]

Chronology of the Bible means a series of biblical events in time order, beginning with the creation of Adam. The creation of the first man is (by definition) in the year 0. Therefore the years of the chronology of the Bible reflect the age of Adam (A.H. = anno hominis).

1 A.H. = < Adam is 1 year old >

2 A.H. = < Adam is 2 years old >

Etc.

The Chronology of the Bible is only based on numbers from the Scripture. There is no need for using any year of date from the historical research.

Basic (fundamental) events

In the following a series of main events is presented. These form the chronology of the Bible. An event is indicated by < … >. The corresponding year of date precedes the event. The next lines give the text of the scripture. Writings are according to the King James’ Bible. Sometimes an explanation is appended. At the end of the explanation the year of date is calculated from the previous one.

In the case of an event concerning a person, the number of the generation since Adam is added.

Abbreviation:

*           Birth

+          Death

^           Translation to heaven or resurrection

0 A.H.         < Adam * > (1st   generation)

Genesis 5:1

This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;

130 A.H.    < Seth * > (2nd generation)

Genesis 5:3

And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth:

The meaning is: Adam lived 130 years and then his son was born.

0 + 130 = 130

235 A.H.    < Enos * > (3rd generation)

Genesis 5:6

And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos:

130 + 105 = 235

325 A.H.    < Cainan * > (4th generation)

Genesis 5:9

And Enos lived ninety years, and begat Cainan:

235 + 90 = 325

395 A.H     < Mahalaleel * >          (5th generation)

Genesis 5:12

And Cainan lived seventy years and begat Mahalaleel:

325 + 70 = 395

460 A.H.    < Jared * >         (6th generation)

Genesis 5:15

And Mahalaleel lived sixty and five years, and begat Jared:

395 + 65 = 460

622 A.H.    < Enoch * > (7th generation)

Genesis 5:18

And Jared lived an hundred sixty and two years, and he begat Enoch:

460 + 162 = 622

687 A.H.    < Methuselah * > (8th generation)

Genesis 5:21

And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:

622 + 65 = 687

874 A.H.    < Lamech * > (9th generation)

Genesis 5:25

And Methuselah lived an hundred eighty and seven years, and begat Lamech.

687 + 187 = 874

1056 A.H.  < Noah * > (10th generation)

Genesis 5:28-29

And Lamech lived an hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son: And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed.

874 + 182 = 1056

1656 A.H.  < Flood >

Genesis 7:6

And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.

1056 + 600 = 1656

1658 A.H.  < Arphaxad * > (12th generation)

Genesis 11:10

These are the generations of Shem: Shem was an hundred years old, and begat Arphaxad two years after the flood:

1656 + 2 = 1658

1693 A.H.  < Salah * > (13th generation)

Genesis 11:12

And Arphaxad lived five and thirty years, and begat Salah:

1658 + 35 = 1693

1723 A.H.  < Eber * > (14th generation)

Genesis 11:14

And Salah lived thirty years, and begat Eber:

1693 + 30 = 1723

1757 A.H.  < Peleg * >          (15th generation)

Genesis 11:16

And Eber lived four and thirty years, and begat Peleg:

1723 + 34 = 1757

1787 A.H.  < Reu * > (16th generation)

Genesis 11:18

And Peleg lived thirty years, and begat Reu:

1757 + 30 = 1787

1819 A.H.  < Serug * > (17th generation)

Genesis 11:20

And Reu lived two and thirty years, and begat Serug:

1787 + 32 = 1819

1849 A.H.  < Nahor * > (18th generation)

Genesis 11:22

And Serug lived thirty years, and begat Nahor:

1819 + 30 = 1849

1878 A.H.  < Terah * > (19th generation)

Genesis 11:24

And Nahor lived nine and twenty years, and begat Terah:

1849 + 29 = 1878

2008 A.H.  < Abraham * > (20th generation)

Genesis 12:4

So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.

Terah dies in Haran at the age of 205 years (Genesis 11:32). Abram (later called Abraham) leaves Haran at the age of 75 years (Acts 7:4) after the death of his father. So the New Testament determines the sequence of the years of date in an important way. Bishop Usshur (born in Dublin in 1581 A.D.) has first recognized the date of birth of Abraham.

1878 + 205 - 75 = 2008

2107 A.H. < God’s covenant with Abraham >

Genesis 17:1

And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

2008 + 99 = 2107

2108 A.H.  < Isaac * > (21st generation)

Genesis 17:21

But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.

2107 + 1 = 2108

2168 A.H.  < Jacob * > (22nd generation)

Genesis 25:26

And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them.

2108 + 60 = 2168

2298 A.H.  < Jacob in Egypt >

Genesis 47:9

And Jacob said unto Pharaoh, The days of the years of my pilgrimage are an hundred and thirty years: few and evil have the days of the years of my life been, and have not attained unto the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the        days of their pilgrimage.

The emigration of Jacob to Egypt is the beginning of the sojourn of the children of Israel in this land.

2168 + 130 = 2298

2728 A.H.  < Exodus >

Exodus 12:40-41

Now the sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years. And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty        years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt.

These 430 years are calculated from the sojourn of the children of Israel in Egypt.

2298 + 430 = 2728

3207 A.H.  < Salomon builds the Temple >

1 Kings 6:1

And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.

Please, note that it reads “in the 480th year” and not “after 480 years”!

2728 + 479 = 3207

3647 A.H. < Jerusalem destroyed by the Babylonians >

For the time between the beginning of building the Temple and the destruction of Jerusalem by the Babylonian reigned by Nebuchadnezzar we do not present the text of the scripture, since there are too much verses. [They are given in the complete version of the chronology of the Bible.] The reign of the kings of Judah form a guideline for the chronology of the Bible in the time after the Great Schism. These years are reported both in the books of Kings and the books of Chronicles. The arrangement of the events has to be proofed against the years of the kings of Israel (10 northern tribes). In doing so we learn, that there exist two periods, when no king is indicated. Such a period is called “Interregnum”. The following list only presents the reign of the kings of Judah and the Interregnum of Judah. The Interregnum of Israel was twice as long (i.e. 22 years). The sum of both times results in 33. This is the time for which Christ lived on earth. It seems to be that God reserved the necessary space in the time of the kings for the true king of His nation.

[The numbers in brackets enumerate the kings of Judah, referred to David. Athalja is not counted. She is never called king or queen of Judah in the Scripture.]

36 years reign of Salomon               (2) since the beginning of building the Temple

17 years reign of Rehoboam           (3)

03 years reign of Abijah                   (4)

41 years reign of Asa                       (5)

25 years reign of Jehoshaphat        (6)

08 years reign of Jehoram               (7)

01 years reign of Ahaziah                (8)

06 years reign of Athaliah

40 years reign of Joash                    (9)

29 years reign of Amaziah               (10)

11 years Interregnum of Juda

52 years reign of Uzziah                   (11)

16 years reign of Jotham                 (12)

16 years reign of Ahaz                     (13)

29 years reign of Hezekiah              (14)

55 years reign of Manasseh            (15)

02 years reign of Amon                    (16)

31 years reign of Josiah                   (17)

00 years reign of Jehoahaz (18)

11 years reign of Jehoiakim            (19)

00 years reign of Jehoiachin           (20)

11 years reign of Zedekiah              (21)

Added up to 440 years

3207 + 440 = 3647

70 years and 70 „weeks of years“

The course of the chronology is then determined by the great numbers of perfection – 70 years and 70 “weeks of years”.

2. Chronicles 36:21

To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.

Daniel 9:24

Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city…

            Daniel 9:25

Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks…

            Daniel 9:27

… And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week

70 years after the destruction of Jerusalem God allowed the remnant to complete a second Temple. This is the beginning of the 70 “weeks of years”. [In the Hebrew text we find the notion for a “unit of 7”, here meaning a unit of 7 years instead of 7 days.]

The prophecy of Daniel is twofold:

First we find a number determining the time to the coming of the Messiah (7 weeks and 62 weeks). This time can be measured by man (according the word “Chronos” in the New Testament). On the other hand we recognize 70 “weeks of years” in a prophetic sense until the final state of the world (earth and heaven) is reached (Rev. 21 and 22). This time cannot be measured by man (according to the word “Kairos” in the New Testament).

Between these two numbers (69 = 7 + 62 and 70) there is a difference of 1 (week). This is the last “week of year”.

3717 A.H. < Beginning of the 70 “weeks of years” >

The beginning of the 70 „weeks of years“, according to Daniel, is associated with the command to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem. There are 4 dates which could be the starting point:

-          The 1st year of Cyrus (which has to be excluded because of the “70 years of rest” according to 2 chronicles 36:21)

-          The 6th year of Cyrus (at the end of the building of the Temple)

-          The 7th year respectively of Artaxerxes

-          The 20th year respectively of Artaxerxes

Only the 6th year of Cyrus can be reached by a year specification of the Scripture (i.e. 70 years after the destruction of Jerusalem and its Temple). Therefore, this year is the starting point of the 70 “weeks of years”. [The 7th and the 20th year respectively of Artaxerxes, can only be determined by the profane historiography and not by the Scripture. Therefore, these dates can be excluded. Please note that after the completion of the Temple (in Ezra 6:14) the order is given by the “God of Israel” and not by the kings.]

3647 + 70 = 3717

4200 A.H. < Ending of the 69 “weeks of years” >

Daniel 9:25

Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two week: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even        in troublous times.

3717 + (7 + 62) * 7 = 4200

4200 A.H. < Messiah >

The end of the 69 “weeks of years“ is the beginning of the time of the Messiah. The life time of the “son of David” is determined by the years of date of David. The association of David und Christ is reported in the New Testament in many places. For example:

Matthew 1:1

The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham

Revelation 22:16

I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

The association of Christ and David is the key for an understanding of the chronology of the Bible. The New Testament determines the birth of Abraham as well as the arrival of Christ with respect to the arrangement of the years of date (of the Old Testament).

In the year 4200 A.H. the time of the Messiah begins. But it is not the year of His birth. David was the hidden king for 30 years and Christ was expected for 30 years, too.

4230 A.H. < Jesus Christ * >

2 Samuel 5 :4-5

David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.

In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.

The 30 years between the year 4200 A.H and the birth of the Messiah correspond to the age of David at his anointment as king of whole Israel (12 tribes).

4200 + 30 = 4230

4263 A.H. < Christ ^ >

2 Samuel 5 :4-5

David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.

In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.

The 33 years between the year 4230 A.H. and the death and the resurrection of the Messiah correspond to the reign of David as king of whole Israel (including Judah).

4230 + 33 = 4263

4303 A.H. < Jerusalem destroyed by the Romans >

Matthew 24:2

… There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

Matthew 24:34

Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

Mark 13:2

…Tthere shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

Mark 13:30

…Tthat this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.

Luke 21:6

…The days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

Luke 21:32

Verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

1 Kings 11:42

And the time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.

The 40 years between the year 4263 A.H. and the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans correspond to the

-          Biblical time of examination of man [40 is the number of examination]

-          Reign of the king Solomon up to the Great Schism. [The visible unity of the folk of God was destroyed by the Great Schism.]

4263 + 40 = 4303

The end of the kingdom of Israel came after 40 years of reign of Solomon. Afterwards the time of the Great Schism began. The kingdom of Israel was disunited leading to two separate kingdoms (northern and southern empire). This time period ended with the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans.

The martyr Stephen presents a description of the folk of God in Acts 7 beginning with Abraham and ending with Solomon.

Acts 7:2-4

And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran,

And said unto him, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and come into the land which I shall shew thee.

Then came he out of the land of the Chaldaeans, and dwelt in Charran: and from thence, when his father was dead, he removed him into this land, wherein ye now dwell.

Acts 7:47-50

But Solomon built him an house.

Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,

Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?

Hath not my hand made all these things?

The time after the reign of Solomon is no more mentioned by Stephen. For him, the history of Israel ends with Solomon. (Solomon is noted in the Scripture 12 times, the last notation is in acts 7:47). Herein the New Testament gives a confirmation that the destruction of Jerusalem is associated symbolically with the end of the reign of Solomon (40 years).

After the fall of Jerusalem God speaks about the Temple, which is not made by man:

Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands

After

the end of the chronology of the Bible

there is a time of undetermined length (the time of the church). Afterwards the chronology will be continued by the last “week of year”, announced by Daniel in chapter 9.

... And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week

Other events

Certain events can be easily arranged in the chronology of the Bible since the Scripture gives the direct information. The birth of Moses is such an event.

For other events there is no direct hint when it took place. In this case we must have a plausible idea (an assumption) to construct the year of date. We then have to check if the year has reasonable relations to other (already confirmed) events. The immolation of Isaac is such an event.

2647 A.H.  < Moses * > (26th generation)

Exodus 7:7

And Moses was fourscore years old, and Aaron fourscore and three years old, when they spake unto Pharaoh.

Exodus 12:2

This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.

The birth of Moses can be calculated directly from the Scripture. Moses and Aaron stand in front of the pharaoh at the age of 80 and 83 respectively. God ordered the beginning of a new year for the exodus. Therefore in the 1st year of the exodus their age was 81 and 84 respectively. In the 40th (the last) year of the journey through the wilderness their age was 120 and 123 respectively.

2728 < Exodus > – 1 – 80 = 2647

2121 A.H.  < Immolation of Isaac >

Genesis 22:2

And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

The year of the immolation of Isaac cannot be extracted directly from the Scripture. Therefore we have to make an assumption to date the event. Our assumption is that the ordeal of Abraham is in association (a correlation based on 7 years) with the promise of the numerous offspring (in the year 2107 A.H.). Isaac was a boy (12 or 13 years old). Therefore it suggests itself to assume that the immolation took place 2 * 7 years after the ordeal leading to the year 2121 A.H.:

< Promise to Abraham > + 14 = 2107 + 14 = 2121

The number 2121 has a wonderful correlation with 4242, the year when Christ was in the Temple at an age of 12.

Additional years of date

The following events are listed here without further explanations. All of them can be calculated from the Scripture directly. The only exception is the date of the birth of Joshua.

< Death of Adam >   = 930 A.H.

< Birth of Joshua >    = 2708 A.H.

< Birth of David >      = 3141 A. H.

< Ending of the 70 "weeks of years“           = 3141 A.H.

< Christ (12 years old) in Temple > = 4242 A.H.

Years of symbolism

God’s covenant with Abraham                    2107 A.H. (= 49 * 43 = 49 * 40 + 49 * 3)

            In this number there are:

The 7 (in the product 7 * 7) as the important number of perfection

The 3 as number of the trinity

The 40 as number of ordeal

Immolation of Isaac                                       2121 A.H. (= 3 * 700 + 3 * 7)

[See chapter “Intervals between years”, special time intervals]

End of the time of hunger in Egypt  2303 A.H. (= 49 * 47)

Jehoiakim, Jehoiachin and Zedekiah         3636 A.H. (= 6 * 600 + 6 * 6)

The number 6 (the number of man) is a hint to the ungodliness of the three      kings.  36 (= 6 * 6) years later (in the 37th year) Jehoiachin is freed from prison

(2 kings 25:27).

End of the 69 “weeks of years”                    4200 A.H. (= 6 * 700 = 7 * 600 = 40 * 105)

Jesus Christ (12) in Temple             4242 A.H. (= 21 * 202 = 2121 + 2121)

Jesus Christ ^                                                4263 A.H. (= 49 * 87 = 4200 + 70 - 7)

Intervals between years

The destruction of Jerusalem:

From

< 1st destruction of Jerusalem >

To

< 2nd destruction of Jerusalem > =

4303 - 3647 = 656

Although no historical dates about the Egyptian, Assyrian, Babylonian or Persian kings are used for the chronology of the Bible, we get as a result

The correct time interval (656 years)

From               < 1st destruction of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar >

To                    < 2nd destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans >

[Compare [1] Volume 1, 34th edition, October 2000, page 37 and 97:

            < Capture and destruction of Jerusalem > = 587 B.C.

< Capture of Jerusalem (Arch of Titus in Rome) > = 70 A.D.]

Birth of Christ:

In order to synchronize the time scales A.H. und A.D. we use one of the events mentioned above and get:

< Birth of Christ > is in year 4 B.C. (4230 A.H.)

The year of date 4 B.C. is a consequence of the chronology of the Bible and not a precondition.

Special time intervals:

< Noah * > to < Christ ^ > = 4263 - 1056 = 3207 years.

< Adam * > to < Building Temple > = 3207 - 0 = 3207 years.

< Birth of Eber > to < Birth of Moses > = 2647 - 1723 = 924 = 12 * 77 years.

< Birth of Isaac > to < Birth of Moses > = 2647 – 2108 = 539 = 11 * 49 years.

< Birth of Moses > to < Building the Temple > = 3207 – 2647 = 560 = 14 * 40 years.

< Birth of Moses > to < 1st destruction of Jerusalem > = 3647 – 2647 = 1000 years.

< Birth of Moses > to < 2nd destruction of Jerusalem > = 4303 – 2647 = 1656 years.

< Birth of Abraham > to < Birth of Joshua > = 2708 - 2008 = 700 years.

< Birth of Abraham > to < Birth of Christ > = 4230 - 2008 = 2222 years.

< Building Temple > to < End of 70 “weeks of years” > = 4207 – 3207 = 1000 years.

< Birth of David > to < Birth of Christ > = 4230 – 3141 = 1089 = 33 * 33 years.

< Immolation of Isaac > to < Christ (12) in Temple > = 4242 – 2121 = 2121 years.

< Death of Adam > to < Christ ^ > = 4263 - 930 = 3333 years.

Equidistant pairs of events

From

< Birth of Moses > to < 1st destruction of Jerusalem > there are 1000 years just like from

< Beginning of building the Temple > to < End of the 70 “weeks of years” >

Herein we see a realm of 1000 years in the Old Testament.

From

< Birth of Moses > to < 2nd destruction of Jerusalem > there are 1656

(= 1000 + 656 = 1000 + 600 + 49 + 7) years just like from

< Adam * > to < The flood >

The flood was the awful judgement for mankind. The 2nd destruction of Jerusalem was the corresponding judgement for the folk of God on earth. The numbers 49 and 7 in the year of date indicate the grace for the remnant of Israel.

From

< Adam * > to < Immolation of Isaac > there are 2121 years just like from

< Immolation of Isaac > to < Christ (12 years old) in Temple >

In the chronology of the Bible the number in common 2121 is a hint to the correspondence of “Abraham/Isaac” with “God Father/Son”. The number includes the product 3 * 7. 3 is the number of Christ. See for example

The public sermon of Christ took a time of about 3 years.

His mother Maria was with the mother of John for about 3 months before His birth.

His resurrection took place at the 3rd day.

There were 3 hours of darkness during the crucifixion.

7 is the number of God’s perfection. The product 3 * 7 exhibits the close relationship of Father and Son. The Temple was built on the mountain where the immolation of Isaac took place. The immolation of the Son of God took place 21 years later. He did this as an adult in His own decision (but in agreement with His Father).

From

< Birth of Noah > to < Christ ^ > there are 3207 years just like from

< Adam * > to < Beginning of building the Temple >

Herein we see the building of the Temple as an archetype of the death and resurrection of Christ. Seven years after the beginning of the Building the glory of God fulfilled the House of God (2 chronicles 5:14) [See also the chapter “Relations between events and Christ”.]

Relations between events and Christ

4200 (0)

2222 years since < Abraham * >

33 * 33 years since < David * >       12 = 4 * 3 (four times the number 3)

4230 (30 years later) birth

            Jesus Christ

4263 (63 years later) death and resurrection

3333 years since < Adam + >         12 = 4 * 3 (four times the number 3)

                                                          24 = 12 + 12

In the chronology the relation between Christ on the one hand and David and Abraham (Matthew 1:1) on the other hand is apparent by the two numbers of great symmetry 2222 and 33 * 33 (the time intervals between the years of birth).

2222:

The year of birth of Abraham contains the numbers 2 and 8. The time interval 2222 consists of 4 times the number 2: 4 * 2 = 8. The number 2 is a hint to the two kinds of children of Abraham: The bodily (the first ones) and the theological (the second ones) children. The latter only could exist after the birth of Christ. The number 2 stands for the church (assembly). In Matthew 18:20 the number 2 is mentioned first. The number 8 = 7 + 1 is a sign of the first day of the week, the day of the Lord.

[Chronologers who do not accept the New Testament, declare the year 1948 A.H. as the year of birth of Abraham. For them there is no 2. They stay at the number 1 for the bodily children.]

33 * 33:

This wonderful connection of the numbers for David and Christ is a chronological confirmation of the verses in Matthew 1:1 and revelation 22:16.

3333:

The crucifixion of Christ took place 3333 years after the death of Adam. This number is the highest number with 4 equal digits in the chronology of the Bible (less than 4303). With it we bridge the huge time gap. The number points to the death of Adam and his age of 930 years. 70 years are missing to the 1000 years (the numbers of the ONE, God). In counting the years since 4200 (see the numbers in (…) above) we recognize the 63 years passed at death of Christ. Then there is missing only one (the last) week of year to 70, the number of perfection (see Daniel). After this week the New Jerusalem will have the glory of God (revelation 1:11).

4 * 3 = 12 (from 33 * 33) plus 4 * 3 = 12 (from 3333) add up to 24. This number reminds of the 24 elders in revelation 5:6-8, who encircle the “lamb as it has been slain”.

7 entities of 700 years

1st 700-year-entity from year 0000 to end of 0699

2nd 700-year-entity from year 0700 to end of 1399

3rd 700-year-entity from year 1400 to end of 2099

4th 700-year-entity from year 2100 to end of 2799

5th 700- year-entity from year 2800 to end of 3499

6th 700- year-entity from year 3500 to end of 4199

7th 700- year-entity from year 4200...

For the first four 700-year-entities there exist four persons each with years of birth in a special relationship to the end of a 700-year-entity.

First 700-year-entity:

Enoch was born in the year 622 A.H.

            699 - 622 = 77 = 70 + 7

Enoch walked with God (Genesis 5:24). According to 1 John 1:5 God is "light". A man walking with God is walking in the light. At the first day of the Creation the light was divided from the darkness (Genesis 1:4). Therefore, Enoch represents the 1st day of the Creation.

Second 700-year-entity:

Noah was born in the year 1056 A.H.

            1399 - 1056 = 343 = 7 * 7 * 7 (notice: three times the number 7)

The relation between Noah and the second day of the Creation is given by “the waters which were under the firmament” and “the waters which were above the        firmament” (Genesis 1:7), because these “waters” dominated the time of the flood and the ark.

Third 700-year-entity:

Abraham was born in the year 2008 A.H.

            2099 - 2008 = 91 = 7 * 13 = 70 + 3 * 7 (notice: the number 3)

Abraham represents the third day of the Creation. The relating item is “seed”.  Seed is mentioned several times in Genesis 1:9-12 and in Genesis 17:1-14. The item seed is associated with the items life, growth and progeny.

Fourth 700-year-entity:

Joshua was born in the year 2708 A.H.

            2799 - 2708 = 91 = 7 * 13 = 70 + 3 * 7 (notice: the number 3)

At the fourth day of the Creation sun and moon were created to rule day and night. Joshua (Greek: Jesus) invalidates this rule for one day (Joshua 10:12-14). Many gentile folks believe on the ruling of sun and moon as gods. But here a man is ruling the heavenly bodies.

The first four 700-year-entities:

There are only 4 Men who symbolically represent the 4 days of the Creation.

4 is the limit for men (the number of the earth).

4 is the sum of 1 (the ONE, God) and 3 (the trinity)

The number 1

Enoch corresponds to God since he felt no death.

The number 3

Noah (solace) corresponds to the Holy Ghost (Acts 9:31).

Abraham (father of a multitude) corresponds to God as Father.

Joshua (Jesus) corresponds to God as Son.

For the last three persons, the relation of the years of date is always the number 3 (trinity).

The fifth and the sixth 700-year-entity:

At the fifth and the sixth day of the Creation, animals and man were created. The prophet Isaiah lived at the turn from the fifth day to the sixth day. In Isaiah 1:3 there is a hint to the relation between animals and men. “The ox knoweth his owner… but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.” The fifth 700-year-entity is characterized by many sacrifices of animals, which must die instead of men. The sixth 700-year-entity is mostly characterized by the acting of men (prophets and gentile monarchs).

Seventh 700-year-entity:

The seventh 700-year-entity is the day of rest of God (Genesis 2:2). As seventh day of the week it is the Sabbath. In the New Testament we often find the working of Christ at Sabbath. In the gospels the Sabbath is mentioned 49 (= 7 * 7) times.

Outlook

Approximately 400 events are dated in the complete version of the chronology of the Bible, including the following years of date of the New Testament:

John 2:20:  46 years (Temple)

Luke 2:6-37: 7 years and 84 years (Anna)

Luke 3:23: 30 years (Christ)

Acts 7:23: 40 years (Moses, brothers)

Acts 7.30: 40 years (Moses, thornbush)

Acts 13.20: 450 years (Judges, Samuel)

Galatians 3.13: 430 years (covenant, law)

The classifying of further biblical events is not yet completed. Many important incidents are not labelled with a year of date.

The creation account in Genesis 1:5, 8, 13, 19, 23, 31 reads:

And the evening and the morning were the

First, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth day.

There is nothing said about the seventh day. It is not brought to an end.

The „7th day“, beginning in the year 4200 A.H., is continuing today. Now it holds what is said in acts 1:7:

It is not for you to know the times or the seasons…

And in 1 Thessalonians 5:1 we read:

But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

Nowadays the Christian lives expecting the return of his LORD. This can happen day-to-day (timeless). The measurable time of the chronology has ended. The time of the church (assembly) is out of the range of “Chronos”. Now the time is determined by “Kairos” as is promised by the prophecy of Daniel.

Summary

The chronology of the Bible…

(First) is the history of the first man (Adam) to the second one (Christ) formulated in exact years.

(Second) combines Old and New Testament resulting in an inseparable unit.

(Third) comprises a time interval of more than four thousands of years. It is the unique and greatest opus of history of mankind.

(Fourth) is written in plurality of books of the Bible by various persons at different times. Their inner coherence was not recognized until the completion of the whole Bible by various people. (This is an argument (proof) for the fact that the books of the Bible form no collection of literature of men but represent a text inspired by God for mankind.)

(Fifth) shows a wonderful structure behind the events (Word and number).
